Greetings friends, I am honored to serve as the 14th president of the Kentucky Black Cuacus of Local Elected Officials (KBC-LEO). One of the largest organization in the state of Kentucky. I presently serve the city of Radcliff as a City Councilmember for the past 10 years and the last two years as the Mayor Pro-tem. Our mission as KBC-LEO is to develop, conduct and promote educational, research and training programs designed to enhance the effectiveness of our members, as we consider legislation and issues of public policy which impact, us directly or indirectly. KBC-LEO is interested in providing a fresh start to addressing all the issues that are important to the people of Kentucky. For many years members of KBC-LEO have collaborated with NAACP, NBC-LEO, KBHE, and the Kentucky Black State Legislators to work on issues that effect African American across Kentucky.
We have more than 50 members from across the state that are represented in a 120 counties. Serveral of our members hold leadership positions with the Kentucky League of Cities board of directors and the executive board.
The composition of our Caucus brings a diverse set of experiences and viewpoints to tackle the unique challenges of African American communities. While we each have our own priorities, we maintain our dedication to upholding our reputation as a "Voice for the people of Kentucky." We speak with a singular, powerful voice in our fight to deliver on the expectations of Kentuckians—to have a commonwealth that works for us all.
Our website will provide you with our rich history, legislative agenda, and updates on our work toward positive change in this state. As president, I look forward to working with my KBC-LEO colleagues as we implement a new agenda—one that learns from our past, but boldly confronts the future.
I welcome your thoughts on how to better serve you and I am confident that together we can make a difference. Thank you very much. Very truly yours, Stan Holmes KBC-LEO President
